I'm enjoying it, and I think that anyone else who likes to watch throw away TV and just be entertained will enjoy it too! If I have any concerns about this show it's that it's a little bit too "high school" to start with and I don't see how this is going to last beyond a single series as the current plot (barring any miracles) pretty much means anyone left in space after a few months is dead? Bottom line is that it's entertaining! And it is getting better too, there are even moments which remind me of Battlestar Galactica (the remade series, not the original) as resources on the Ark start to dwindle and decisions have to be made. It's not great but what I am starting to see coming through is a fairly sincere interlacing storyline between what is happening on the Ark (the big space station with the last of the humans on it) and those dumped back on Earth. OK, so I'm not going to waffle on about how bad the script is and how many plot holes there are to this show as I think from a run through of a number of reviews on this site. The Ark consists of the space stations previously representing the nations of the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, China, Japan, India, Russia, Venezuela, France, Brazil, and Uganda. There are people on Earth who survived the war, called "grounders" by the 100. However they discover that not all humanity was wiped out. Confronting the dangers of this rugged new world, they struggle to form a tentative community. The teens arrive on a beautiful planet they have only seen from space. After the Ark's life support systems are found to be critically failing, one hundred juvenile prisoners are declared "expendable" and sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again. Resources are scarce and all crimes no matter their nature or severity are punishable by death ("floating") unless the perpetrator is under 18 years of age. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named "The Ark", where about 2,400 people live. The only known survivors are the residents of twelve space stations in Earth's orbit prior to the war.
The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth.
